Missed your six month check up Mark?

Watching the news this evening, I saw an interview with Mark Serwotka, the General Secretary of the PCS union, who was expressing his outrage at the suggestion of 40% cuts in some Whitehall budgets; but that’s not the point of this post.

Forgive me for being personal, but what struck me was the state of his teeth; because he’d either been eating liquorice (and large amounts of it) minutes before his interview, or he has shockingly neglected his dental health for some years.

Unfortunately, I can’t find a picture of him which adequately shows the state of his teeth, but from what I saw of him on the television, his mouth resembled the inside of an Eccles cake.

Quite the worst set of railings I've seen for many a year.

No wonder the Americans have a thing about the poor state of ‘English’ teeth, even though Serwotka is actually Welsh...

My own tootypegs are in a risible state at present. It isn't for the want of attention, they get toothpowdered and toothpasted twice every day.

But for some reason, loss of enamel seems to be more and more commonplace nowadays. In my case, I forswore sugary juice drinks and changed over to tomato juice, with worcester sauce. It was nice, but it's acidic. It damaged my teeth, so now tomato juice is also verboten.
Some things are worse than sugar....

You have my sympathy, Monty.

My own are in reasonable nick for a man perilously close to his half-century.

I suppose I've been lucky so far...

Some ironwork here and there but also still all my own. A propos of not much TRTOK, what are your thoughts on the granting of a barony (can't call it an enoblement without getting acid reflux) of Lord Prescott?

An interesting question, Outed.

Prior to the unmasking of the coruption of the Rotten Parliament, I would have railed for all I was worth at the ennoblement of this illiterate, fat, incompetent, bullying imbecile.

But it somehow seems of a piece with the final collapse of the Brown Terror; the final joke played on the public by that cabal of deceitful and malevolent megalomaniacs.

And part of me relishes the discomfort which may pierce even his pachyderm-like hide at the accusations of hypocrisy.

I just feel sorry for HM in having to sign the Letters Patent of his creation: her gorge must have risen at the very thought...
